Sand Quarry

The Trust has basic facilities set up in a large disused quarry, approximately half the size of a football pitch, within the grounds of Champs Hill.  (This this isn’t a commercial campsite).  

Available to selected groups by invitation - primarily for Christian youth groups and associated ventures, the space may also be available for use by the Duke of Edinburgh Award participants, the Scouting Association and school groups. 

Enquiries can be received for stays between March and October, for a maximum of 3 nights, for groups up to 50 people - or for use during the day.  

Facilities include: a good-sized sheltered hut (concrete floor) with one open end, equipped with overhead lighting, fridge, freezer, power points, trestle tables and chairs.  Basic facilities include a tap with drinking water, bins, brick barbeque, wood store, wash block with 3 flush toilets, 3 wash cubicles, 1 hot shower.  Free-off street parking. 

Users are expected to bring their own equipment.
